Dementia Friendly Communities Survey

Alzheimer’s Australia is developing resources for a Dementia Friendly Communities Program. The first step has been the development of a “Community Survey”. This is intended to inform the project on desired outcomes and expectations. I ask you and every one you know to complete this survey. Pass it far and wide (It will really confuse Alzheimer’s Aust.

Antipsychotic Drugs and Delirium

According to a recent news article (published by the ABC) drugs commonly used to “treat” delirium in the aged actually worsen the condition and may increase their rates of mortality.

December Picnic – Tuesday 6th Dec.

You are invited to our next social gathering in the James Oates Reserve in Minnamurra.

The reserve is located near the Tennis Courts off Charles Ave, almost directly opposite the Federal St Intersection. It is about 10 a minute walk from the Kiama Golf Club or Minnamurra Station and borders a nice reserve and the entrance to Minnamurra Rivulet.

Whats Happening To My Brain?

The following is a short video in which I am attempting to use artistic license to show an interpretation of the changes that are occurring in my brain. This short three minute video represents about 100 hours of single frame editing to achieve my animation. Hopefully this will illustrate how amyloid plaques may  be degrading the way my neurons behave.
