For all that I know,

For all that I’ve seen and done,

I don’t know what may be tomorrow.

All I know of tomorrow is

If I am alive

It will be a challenge!

Sensory Challenges and Medical Procedures

The Spanish Inquisition – Surplus Equipment

Ever wondered what they did with all that left over equipment of torture when the Spanish Inquisition wound up? Well it appears much of it was taken up by medical technicians (I bet you’re not surprised by that!). If you are in ‘normal’ health some basic medical tests can be a bit daunting,

Sensory Challenge – Sound

Part 2: Sound and Hearing

Our ability to hear is fundamental to being able to understand those around us and to communicate with others. This is not the whole story though. Sensory Challenge – Touch

Part 1: Touch and Temperature

Around my time of diagnosis I became aware of some changes in my sense of touch and thermoception – my ability to sense heat. The first thing I noticed was when I dropped a prawn on a hot barbeque plate. I immediately reached out and attempted to pick it up.

The text can be downloaded here.

Brain Donations

In order to help further the research and understanding about Dementia, and hopefully to help contribute to a cure, I have arranged to donate my brain and spinal chord when I have finished using them. I even suggested that if I vote for our incumbent government in the upcoming election,

Fun Fun Fun in the MRI

Yesterday I had my annual MRI scan and remarked to those present how this year not only did I detect the dulcet tones of Pink Floyd (Astronomie Dominie) but some of the works of Uriah Heap, another group of renown. I then had the opportunity to share this video produced (with much appreciation) by Elisa.
