make the problem worse because the true problem may not be in how the
auditory information is received or transmitted, but in how it is processed in
the temporal lobe of the brain.
Dementia and Human Rights.
As mentioned, Dementia is covered by the UNCRPD, and receives to lowest
recognition of all the disabilities. A very good and easy to understand
definition of Basic Human Rights, is to say that ‘Our rights are violated when
our human dignity is lost’. Dementia does not take our dignity, it is taken by
other people’s attitudes, actions and inactions. These circumstances are often
brought about poor understanding and many misconceptions that have
become ingrained into society.
